Now is the perfect time of the year to bake this delicious peach pie. There are loads of sweet, large, juicy peaches and nectarines on the market, which will be perfect for this pie. Containing the ingredients that you are most likely to have in your storage all the time, it is very easy and quick to cook for any occasion.


For the crust:

  • 1,25 C all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 5 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • ½ C butter, softened
  • 1 egg

For the filling:

  • 4 fresh peaches, peeled, pitted (you can use nectarines instead)
  • ¾ C sugar
  • ¼ C all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • ¼ C water
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/3 tsp almond flavoring


For the crust:

  1. Mix flour, baking powder and sugar in a bowl.
  2. Add the butter and the egg, mixing it in with a fork, until the mixture is moist.
  3. Press out the mixture in a greased cake pan or pie plate.
  4. Cover with a tea towel and chill for about 1-1,5 hours.

For the filling:

  1. Mix sugar, flour and butter in a bowl, until the mixture looks like crumbs.
  2. Sprinkle half of the mixture in the unbaked pie crust.
  3. Put the peaches on top, in an attractive pattern. Cover with the remaining half of the crumbs.
  4. Mix water, lemon juice and almond flavoring and pour this liquid over the pie.
  5. Bake at 180 C for about 45-60 minutes, until it’s cooked.
  6. Serve with a vanilla ice cream scoop or chocolate syrup.
